Often believed to be the “forbidden fruit” in the Garden of Eden, the Pomegranate has become one of the most widely consumed fruit. It is native to the Caucasus and the areas of modern day Iraq and Iran.

growing regions
It is widely cultivated throughout Turkey, Iran, Syria, Spain, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, China, Burma, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Jordan, Philippines, the drier parts of southeast Asia, the Mediterranean region of Southern Europe, and tropical Africa. In USA is also cultivated in parts of California and Arizona.
